David Beckham heads to NYC

So its been awhile since I posted, mainly its been because I haven't seen David wear anything worth blogging about, but that changed today... as David headed to NYC to spend time with wife Victoria, he was captured outside of JFK looking like the suave gent that he is! For his cross Atlantic flight, David wore a silk cashmere jumper by Ralph Lauren with a pair of jeans and boots by Saint Laurent. If anyone can ID his backpack and duffel bag that would be ace! I really like the jumper and I'm sad to say the only size they have left is an extra which is a tad bit too big for me :(

Grandfather, Father and Son....

Over the weekend, David Beckham treated the next Justin Bieber; Cruz Beckham and his father to the Manchester United vs. Liverpool football match. David looked dapper as ever in a newsboy cap by RRL (Sold Out), a double breasted coat by Kent & Curwen ($1655), a pair of Custom-Fit Tick-Weave Trousers by Ralph Lauren and a soon to be released scarf by Kent & Curwen.

It's great to see the three generations of Beckhams spending time together watching football... it's even cooler to see little Cruz turning into David....

Retired football star David Beckham has put on a full force marketing campaign for his new single grain whisky Haig Club. In the past 2 weeks, he has been holding press events, launch parties and tasting sessions in Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Singapore and South Korea. David & Victoria attend the #MetGala

 

David and Victoria Beckham attended the "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" Custume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City today. The lovely couple attend the gala in a well coordinated effort. He wore a white shawl-collar tuxedo jacket by Ralph Lauren and she wore a stunning gown from her own collection. Both looked amazing holding hands and taking pictures on the red carpet.

David Beckham has left Los Angeles and  headed to China to promote Jaguar, for which he is a brand ambassador for in China. While he was there, he attended the China Music Awards at the Venetian Macau Casino in a Ralph Lauren Black Label three piece suit. If you look at the pictures, David is wearing a Ralph Lauren suit that has a ticket pocket (the small pocket above the larger pocket on the blazer). The pocket originated many years ago from British equestrian tradition and was added to suit jackets so riders would not have to unbutton to access money for tolls. While the shawl cardigan he is wearing is by RRL, so are his boots. David attends his wife's Victoria's NYFW show with Harper as his lovely date. Mrs. Beckham always ensures that both husband and daughter gets front row seats to her sold out show, they always head to the very chic eatery Balthazar afterwards and David's always in a spezzato look. What's a spezzato look?  This is a very popular look among Italians and is Italian for "broken in two." Quite simply, it describes a combination of jacket and trousers that's not a matching suit. This year David completed his spezzato look in a Ralph Lauren Black Label navy blazer with a pair of Purple Label grey trousers by the same designer.

David Beckham announces Miami MLS Team

David Beckham is attending events throughout South Florida around Wednesday's press conference with Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber, where he's expected to make an announcement about the future of a team in Miami.

On Tuesday night he attended a private invite-only reception at Adrienne Arsht Center. When asked by reporters to comment on his MLS team, he would only say, “I’m going to answer all those questions tomorrow. I think everyone will be very happy with tomorrow, hopefully, and it’s an exciting time for myself, an exciting time to be welcomed into a city like this, so yeah, tomorrow’s going to be a good day.”

On Wednesday, at the Perez Art Museum, as expected the former LA Galaxy, Real Madrid and Manchester United player exercised his option to become an owner of a new MLS franchise in Miami ending months of speculation.

To mark the transition from player to club owner, Beckham opted for a more executive look for both events. Tuesday for the more formal event, he wore a black Ralph Lauren Black Label 'Anthony' suit with a white Aston shirt by the same fashion label and on Wednesday he went to is British roots and wore a Burberry suit in grey.

Ralph Lauren is an all American designer, who started his life in fashion working for Brook Brothers as a sales associate and eventually left to become a salesman for a tie company. In 1966, when he was 26, he was inspired to design a wide, European-style necktie, but the idea was rejected by the company he worked for. He left to establish his own company selling the ties he made to small shops in New York.

The Class of '92 is a British movie highlighting the rise of 6 young Manchester United footballers, David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Gigs, Gary and Phil Neville and Paul Scholes. The documentary is not only about how 6 lads became friends on and off the pitch, but also how they became champions while the city of Manchester and the country was evolving.

The London premiere for the movie was held in December and David Beckham attended the event with his family. If you do decide to buy this very slim fitting smart suit which is a two-button front and a double vented back, I would recommend going one size higher than what you normally wear. For instance, if you normally wear a 38, buy a 40 as Black Label suits are tailored to have a European cut and thus has a very slim fit, especially post 2012.
